Mobile Apps Privacy Policy

This policy reflects current shipped functionality. Features labeled Planned are not active yet and collect no data until clearly released with an in‑app notice.

1. Introduction

The DeenShield Mobile Apps deliver prayer times, Quran reading, dhikr, Qibla, reminders, and focus tools. We adopt a local‑first design: preference and devotional data stays on your device unless you explicitly opt into future sync.

2. Data We Store Locally

Prayer Settings: Calculation method, madhhab, high‑latitude adjustment.
Geolocation (On Demand): Used in-app to compute prayer times/Qibla; not transmitted to ADS.
Quran Progress: Last surah/ayah, bookmarks, reading history.
Dhikr / Tasbih Counts: Local counters and presets.
Reminder Schedules: Local notification times (stored in app sandbox).
Optional Biometric Lock: Uses OS secure enclave, no raw credential stored by us.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

No personal identifiers (no name, email, phone required).
No analytics tracking SDKs (e.g., no ad networks, no behavioral profiling).
No sale or sharing of data with third parties.
No continuous background location harvesting.

4. Planned Future (Opt‑In) Features

Cloud Sync (Planned): Optional secure sync for Quran progress & settings with explicit consent.
Family / Guardian Mode (Planned): Optional supervised sharing – will require guardian approval & separate notice.
Aggregated Anonymous Metrics (Possible): Only if implemented with differential privacy / minimal counters; you will be able to disable.

5. Security

OS sandboxing isolates app data from other apps.
Biometric / passcode gating leverages platform APIs (we do not store your biometric template).
Local notifications generated on-device—no external push unless you later opt into cloud features.

6. Children & Age Guidance

Suitable for family use. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or higher local threshold). Guardians should supervise usage and can clear app data from system settings at any time.

7. Your Control

Clear local data via in‑app reset (planned) or OS app data deletion.
Disable location permissions in OS settings to stop GPS use.
Opt‑in toggles for any future sync/metrics (default: off).

8. Islamic Ethical Alignment

Focus on beneficial worship & productivity features.
Avoidance of exploitative engagement mechanics.
Transparency (Bayyan) and trust (Amanah) principles.

9. Updates

Policy revisions appear with a new version & effective date. Material changes will appear in the in‑app "What’s New" or onboarding modal.
