DeenHub — Privacy Policy

Overview

DeenHub is a product of Alhaq Initiative that brings faith‑centric tools together in one simple experience. We respect your privacy and design features to work locally whenever possible. This policy explains what information we process, why we process it, and the choices available to you.

Scope

This policy applies to DeenHub pages hosted by Alhaq Initiative and to DeenHub clients (including the mobile app) that reference this document. It does not cover third‑party websites or services that may link to or integrate with DeenHub.

Information We Process

DeenHub follows a privacy‑first, local‑by‑default approach. Depending on how you use the app, we may process:

• App preferences such as theme, language, notification settings, and other configuration choices (stored on‑device).
• Prayer and Qibla inputs such as approximate location (when you grant permission) and device time zone in order to calculate prayer times and compass direction.
• Usage feedback that you choose to send us (for example, comments and an email address you provide in a help or feedback form).
• Diagnostics minimal technical logs generated only when necessary to investigate an issue you report.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Permissions Used (Mobile)

• Location (precise or approximate): to compute accurate prayer times and Qibla direction. You can deny or revoke this at any time in system settings; DeenHub falls back to defaults if unavailable.
• Notifications: to remind you of prayer times and other opted‑in alerts. You can control these in the app and OS settings.
• Motion/Compass (where available): to determine device orientation for Qibla.

How We Use Information

• Provide core functionality (prayer times, Qibla, reminders) and personalize your experience.
• Respond to support requests you submit and improve reliability, safety, and performance.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms where applicable.

Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

• Consent for optional features like notifications and location.
• Performance of a contract to deliver the services you use.
• Legitimate interests to keep services secure and improve them in privacy‑respecting ways.
• Legal compliance where the law requires processing.

On‑Device Processing & Storage

Where feasible, computation happens on your device and preferences are stored locally. Clearing your app or browser data removes locally stored preferences and history within DeenHub.

Cookies and Local Storage (Web)

Our web pages may use first‑party cookies or local storage for strictly necessary purposes (e.g., remembering language or theme). We do not use third‑party advertising cookies.

Third‑Party Services

We may use service providers (for example, hosting and content delivery). These processors are contractually required to protect your information and may process it only to provide services on our behalf. We do not include third‑party advertising or analytics SDKs in the mobile app.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share information only in limited circumstances, such as with service providers bound by obligations of confidentiality, to comply with the law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of our services.

Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it. If you contact us for support, we retain related correspondence only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected and to meet legal requirements.

International Transfers

Where information is processed outside your country, we apply appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law to protect your rights.

Your Rights & Controls

• Access, correct, or delete information you provided to us (for example, in support communications).
• Revoke permissions (Location, Notifications, Motion/Compass) in your device settings at any time.
• Turn off or adjust notifications within the app and OS settings.
• EEA/UK residents may have additional rights (e.g., data portability, restriction, objection). You can exercise these rights using the contact details below.

Children’s Privacy

DeenHub is intended for general audiences. If you believe a child has provided us information without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can investigate and remove it where required.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as we improve DeenHub or to meet legal requirements. When we make changes, we update the “Effective” date above and, if changes are material, provide additional notice where appropriate.
