DeenShield Privacy Overview
Controller / Developer: Alhaq Digital Services ("ADS", "we")
Effective Date: August 12, 2025 • Version 1.1 (Unified)
DeenShield is a unified faith‑centric productivity & protection ecosystem consisting of: (1) Web App, (2) Browser Extension, (3) Mobile Apps, (4) Desktop Manager / Launcher, and (5) Desktop App. Each product is engineered with a privacy‑first, local‑first philosophy: we avoid collecting personal data unless it is strictly necessary to deliver a feature transparently requested by you.
Quick Summary
- No selling, renting, or monetizing of user data.
- No advertising trackers or third‑party behavioral analytics.
- Local storage by default: Settings, preferences, Quran reading state, and filters stay on your device.
- No account required for the current released products.
- Open & auditable: We aim to keep core codebases reviewable for community trust.
Scope & Product-Specific Policies
Below are the dedicated product privacy pages. Where a product introduces additional processing (e.g., optional cloud sync in the future), that page will describe it explicitly. This overview applies generally across all products unless a product page states a narrower or expanded practice.
Local filtering • No telemetry • Permissions explained Web App
Local Quran progress • Prayer time preferences Mobile Apps
Local notifications • No tracking SDKs Desktop Manager
Unified launcher • No telemetry Desktop App
Offline-first • Quran & prayer modules
Data We (Generally) Do Not Collect
- No browsing history or page content.
- No ad tracking identifiers.
- No persistent unique fingerprinting.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties.
Limited Local Data Usage
Some modules store lightweight JSON in localStorage
or extension storage for performance and offline continuity. Examples include: interface theme, blocked keyword list, Quran reading state, last viewed surah, selected calculation method for prayer times, and optional password hash (extension lock). All of this remains on the device unless you explicitly export it.
Future Cloud or Sync Features
Planned features like cross‑device sync or family supervision will be strictly opt‑in. They will ship with a separate concise notice and (where required) a lawful basis explanation before activation.
Children & Age Guidance
DeenShield is suitable for general audiences and may be used by families. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or higher local thresholds). Parents or guardians configuring protection features should supervise usage. If you believe a child provided personal data inadvertently, contact us and we will guide you on local deletion steps.
Security
- Local‑first design minimizes exposure surface.
- Passwords (extension lock) are stored only as non-reversible hashes where implemented.
- No remote calls for filtering logic; blocking rules are declarative and shipped with the extension.
International & Legal Notes
Because we do not operate user accounts or centralized personal data stores at this time, most jurisdictional rights (access, portability, deletion) are exercised directly by you via clearing your local storage / uninstalling a product. If future online accounts launch, we will provide rights request mechanisms (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, etc.).
Updates
We will version and date changes. Material changes (e.g., introduction of optional cloud sync) will be highlighted for at least 30 days in the affected product UI or release notes.
